AP Capstone

AP Capstone: Signature Academy of Baker High School

AP CapstoneTM is a diploma program from the College Board requiring successful completion of two AP courses, AP Seminar and AP Research. These courses are only available at high schools that have applied and been accepted into the program by the College Board.

Rather than teaching subject-specific content, these courses develop students' skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing, and presenting. Students who complete the two-year program can earn one of two different AP Capstone awards, which are valued by colleges across the United States and around the world.

The program immerses students in the practice of the critical skills necessary for success in college and in life by challenging them to think independently and write effectively while researching, collaborating, and learning across disciplines.  By enhancing individual educational experience through our career academies, we are confident that Baker will produce graduates who are not only college and career ready, but are also able to meet the demands of our rapidly changing society.
